Community Outreach: A Culture of Caring
At PJM, we recognize that bringing light to the communities where we live and work involves more than electricity. It means giving back to our neighbors and powering positive change.
Our employees drive a culture of caring, which is nurtured by PJM leadership and recognized by our communities.
Employees’ outreach, volunteerism and donations consistently are acknowledged by awards from organizations including the United Way and the Main Line Chamber of Commerce.
While our employees’ focus is on the community, PJM ensures our workplace supports them. Among our proud achievements is being named one of the country’s most adoption-friendly companies for 13 years in a row.
PJM's corporate matching gift program also allows employees to maximize their donations to causes they feel passionately about.
In addition, PJM has a Volunteer Day program to support employees' community service activities. The program allocates each employee one day off per calendar year, with pay, that can be used for volunteer activities.

PJM employees support a number of organizations that raise awareness and funds to advance research on diseases such as breast cancer and multiple sclerosis.
Employees regularly participate in and organize teams for large fundraising efforts including charity bike rides, runs and walks.
PJM also understands the importance of promoting a healthy work-life balance for our employees. PJM houses an on-site fitness center, and hosts health and fitness events throughout the year.
Outreach in Education
PJM employees are passionate about inspiring the next generation of energy professionals by actively supporting engagement in science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics (STEAM) disciplines.
We participate in mentoring programs, science festivals, career fairs and job-shadowing days in cooperation with local schools. Our STEAM-related outreach efforts extend to almost every area across our region.
PJM helps fund scholarships, and, through PJM’s Diverse Internship Program, we engage students from groups traditionally under-represented in the power industry.
PJM does not have a philanthropic foundation and does not accept solicitations for grants and sponsorships.
